Arsenal 3–0 Fulham: intensity, efficiency and maximum pressure in the title race

Premier League | Emirates Stadium | May 2, 2026

Arsenal did more than just win — they imposed their tempo, executed with precision and turned superiority into direct consequence in the table.

With a dominant first-half display, the Gunners built a 3–0 victory over Fulham, boosted their goal difference and piled serious pressure on Manchester City in the final stretch of the Premier League season.

It was a game settled early — and managed with maturity.

A first half that decided everything

Arsenal needed little time to turn control into advantage.

In the 9th minute, Saka received the ball on the right, took on his marker and drilled a low cross into the box. Gyokeres arrived centrally to finish and open the scoring.

1–0.

Movement, timing and execution — three elements that defined the game.

Fulham had no response.

By the 20-minute mark, Arsenal had already built up attempts, while their opponents had yet to register a shot on target.

The pressure continued.

In the 26th minute, after a poor clearance from Leno, Gyokeres had another chance, but the goalkeeper recovered well with a foot save. On the rebound, Saka fired wide.

The second goal felt inevitable.

When it came, it left no doubt.

In the 39th minute, another move down the right saw Eze find Gyokeres, who held up the ball and laid it off for Saka. The winger finished with precision to double the lead.

2–0.

There was still time for more.

In stoppage time, the move began with a tackle from Gabriel Magalhães. Trossard carried the ball down the left, reached the byline and delivered a perfect cross. Gyokeres rose and headed home the third.

3–0.

Arsenal didn’t just create — they converted.

Gyokeres ended the first half with two goals and an assist. Saka contributed one goal and one assist.

Fulham, meanwhile, managed just two attempts — none on target.

Control, management and little response

The second half followed a different script.

With the result in hand, Arsenal lowered the tempo and controlled the game without needing to force it.

Fulham saw more of the ball, but failed to turn possession into real threat.

Their first shot on target came only in the 71st minute, through Castagne — comfortably handled by Raya.

Having the ball didn’t mean competing.

Arsenal still created occasional chances. In the 79th minute, Calafiori headed onto the crossbar from a corner, with Leno getting a slight touch.

With the game under control, Arteta rotated his squad, giving minutes to different players while managing intensity for the final stretch of the season.

Direct impact on the title race

This win goes beyond the three points.

Arsenal not only won — they boosted their goal difference, a factor that could prove decisive in the title race.

In a tight race, every detail matters.

The result puts direct pressure on Manchester City, who must now win to keep control of their own destiny.

For Fulham, the impact is the opposite.

The defeat halts their push toward European places and reduces their margin in the race for Conference League or Europa League spots.

What it means

This was a game decided by execution.

Arsenal controlled, created and — crucially — finished with efficiency.

Fulham had spells of possession, but never posed a real threat.

Dominance is about turning volume into goals. And Arsenal did that from the start.
